Celebrate Earth Day with Green Kids

We're bringing Wild Wild Wilderness back out to Winnipeg schools April 15-18th.

Wild Wild Wilderness is a program for K-4 that demonstrates the connections between habitat, wildlife, and human activity. The purpose of this project is to celebrate our wilderness areas while empowering young people to make positive choices towards protecting them. The program's academic and environmental focus is on habitat and wildlife conservation, and enjoying the outdoors. A hit with schools from B.C. through Ontario, the Wild Wild Wilderness program is now on its 5th Canadian tour.

Our time at your school will begin with a 25-minute show for all Kindergarten to Grade 4 students. From there, we pack up and are ready to visit 2 classrooms for 30-minute workshops. The Play is a dynamic and whacky story of one kid's accidental effect on a nearby forest and its creatures, performed by a single actor/storyteller and armfuls of adorable puppets. The Workshop is an interactive drama class that gets kids, teachers and parents exploring the animals, forest, people and issues from the story with their bodies and imaginations. The Study Guide details the play's connection to school curriculums and helps students and teachers further explore the play's themes through preparation and follow-up games, projects and initiatives.

Now Playing: CLASSROOM ECO-DRAMA WORKSHOPS

Inspired by the Science Curriculum, Green Kids' love of theatrics, and Mother Nature herself, these workshops will lead students on an exploration of what those 3 Rs really mean, and how young and old, can make them part of their everyday lives.
